Claude 3.5's ability to generate code and execute it is truly remarkable. I can foresee that in the future, a large number of users in the programming field will use Claude 3.5. It might even put an end to many engineers' programming careers, as code implementation becomes fully automated.
The topic of AI code generation fascinates me on two levels. First, there is the challenge itself and how people are trying to solve it. Secondly, I wonder how long it will be until AI takes my job.
AI code generation and the wider issue of job loses caused by AI is on my list of ideas so sooner or later I'll get to it.
This column has sci fi come real stories all over. Freezing brains that come back to life. Rat brains that play Doom. Exo skeletons run by AI. Robot dogs of war. The future looks really bleak
